Microforum Signs Licensing Contract with evendent for Web-based Financing System

Toronto, Ontario, Canada January 11, 2000
Microforum Inc. (TSE:MCF) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a development contract for its CALMSTM online credit approval solution with evendent corporation, a California-based company offering full service financing programs, primarily for technology-based vendors.

CALMSTM allows an intermediary to take a credit application then submit it to evendent for approval, all in a seamless web-based environment. The intermediary can then complete documentation, fund the transaction and track the results using the CALMSTM solution. The CALMSTM system is a web-enabled credit origination solution that exists online with various distribution channels, allowing potential purchasers to go from credit check to vendor payment, with complete credit scoring in minutes. Further details about the contract were withheld for competitive reasons.

"With Y2K behind us," commented Howard Pearl, CEO of Microforum, "we are seeing increased activity in all of our lines of business. The CALMSTM product is quickly gaining momentum in the market and gaining a critical mass in its installation base."
